Pool Meeting 3/29 Notes

Thank you all who came out to talk about the future of our community pool! We really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to contribute your thoughts. Heathmoor Place residents! We missed you!




As discussed at the meeting, the Duniare Pool is community owned and community maintained.  Our first cleanup day of the season saw only 4 volunteers stepping up to get the pool ready to open on May 23rd.  The list of tasks that have to get done every year in order to open the pool are as follows:

  1. Drain the pool
  2. Remove debris from the pool floor
  3. Pressure wash the pool and pool deck
  4. Paint the pool
  5. Refill the pool
  6. Trim all the bushes and weed the pool deck 
  7. Mow and edge the park
  8. Cut back overgrowth
  9. Weed and tidy the garden bed
  10. Clean the bathrooms and paint one bathroom
  11. Clean up the pavilion
  12. Clean all the patio furniture
  13. Inspection
We have 6 Saturdays left to get the pool ready:
April 4
April 11
April 18
April 25
May 9
May 16

If you can spare a few hours to work with your neighbors 10AM-1PM on those days, tools will be provided.  

Last year the pool brought in $9,882.00 from membership fees, guest passes, and pavilion rentals. However total expenses for the pool in 2025 was $11,490.00 putting the pool in a $1,608.00 deficit.

One great source of income for the pool is renting out the pavilion.  Pavilion rental includes use of the pool for your party so please keep us in mind for any celebrations you have coming up.  Visit the Duniare Pool page for rental information as well as membership information.

We also discussed the proposed carwash and briefly got brought up to date about what that might mean for our neighborhood.  William Shephard and Amahl Lipkins are spearheading those talks with a representative from QT and once we have info to share, we will share it here!

MARCH 29th 2-4p AT THE POOL PAVILION  Every year we are at risk of losing the pool property from lack of funds.  Dunaire has already lost part of the pool property due to unpaid property taxes.  Although the cost of running and maintaining the pool is on the rise we have many great ideas to ensure that the Dunaire pool remains a feature of our neighborhood, but we need your help!  We are currently gathering all the information we need to present to the neighborhood in order to have a clear picture of steps moving forward so we can keep our beautiful community pool, and keep it properly maintained for everyone to enjoy. April Civic Association Meeting NOTES

The in person meeting at the pool pavilion had a great turn out. Thank you to everyone who came to give your input, we needed it! William Shephard did a presentation about the proposed carwash that QT is hoping to build.  If you'd like to view the PowerPoint click here . The presentation covered what the project would encompass and what we are asking from QT in return, mainly them addressing the traffic at the Collingwood entrance, the amount of trash that is now being generated from their property that is going into our creek and into the neighborhood, and possible one time or annual funding for the pool and pavilion upkeep.  There is also a sheriff substation that will be set up on the QT property in the near future. NEIGHBORHOOD POOL CLEANUP 3/28

  MARCH 28 10a-1p Come join your neighbors as we trim, sweep, drain, clean, and weed the Dunaire Pool. Our main tasks before opening are:  Drain the pool and remove debris, pressure wash and then paint the pool floor.  Wipe/clean furniture and bathrooms.  Prune back bushes and plants, weed, and clean the pool deck of leaves. Possibly a few artistic special projects if time.  Drop in when you can and wear closed toed shoes, bring gloves, shovels, leaf blowers, wheelbarrows if you have them!
